Reduction in Antibiotic use in 800+ GB Herds Suppling 11 Processors, From Veterinary Practice Sales Data and Changes in Farmer Behaviour
This work shows that robust farm level antibiotic data exists, and that benchmarking antibiotic use in conjunction with change management programmes and wider industry factors have driven a reduction in use of antibiotics and a massive reduction in HP CIA use on GB dairy farms. The work also demonstrates that herd size is not related to antibiotic use, this is an important message for the veterinary industry, farming community and the general public.
