In order to protect and enhance the reputation of the dairy
industry and individual farms we must ensure that all calves
produced as a consequence of dairy farming are respected,
valued, and ideally profitable for the beef supply chain. Some
milk contracts have stipulated this as a requirement, and it is
likely to soon become industry standard. Farmers now have an
opportunity to proactively drive industry change rather than
having it imposed upon them.
